The Netherlands: Retailers ban goods from settlements
July 23, 2013
A recent Dutch media report states that 2 of the country’s largest chains no long sell products originating beyond the Green Line
Aldi and Hoogvliet supermarkets have both demanded that its suppliers not supply products from settlements anymore.
Retailer Jambo is requiring its suppliers to submit formal approval which states that delivered goods will carry a label that states “Israel” so as to ensure they do indeed come from the State of Israel and not the settlements
Jambo commented it has decided to take this unusual step due to raising the subject in public debate
“Our customers deserve honest information”, Jambo stated.
