Tell The Metro Newspapers to Stop Taking Blood Money From SodaStream

Say No to SodaStream and Say Yes! To Human Rights has noticed that since before the holidays this past year, They Metro Newspapers Winnipeg edition has regularly bought SodaStream print advertising, running the ads most recently on the inside of its front cover to promote the soda maker for mixing alcoholic drinks. SodaStream has recently introduced a line of mixers for pina coladas, margaritas, etc.

This campaign is very disappointed in The Metro, foremostly for accepting advertising from an occupation profiteer like SodaStream and also for printing ads that clearly promote alcoholic beverages but do not contain the standard advice”Drink Responsibly”. We recently wrote to the three main executives at The Metro Winnipeg to criticize the advertising.
