Gail Asper Responds to Our Campaign

Ms. Gail Asper, Chair of the Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) responded to our package about SodaStream. She said that because there are many Arab-owned businesses in the West Bank she sees no problem with Jewish-owned businesses providing “economic opportunities” in the West Bank.

There is a huge difference though, between the Palestinians who live and work under occupation and the Israelis who control the economy in the West Bank and Gaza. Occupation businesses like SodaStream benefit greatly from the occupation, through tax incentives to operate there and through employing cheap Palestinian labour.
