Finally got a response from Barry Rempel, President and CEO of the James A. Richardson International Airport. His letter notes that SodaStream’s Canadian distributor (EcoStream, the Winnipeg company owned and operated by Marta Mikita-Wilson) is a licensed Canadian corporation. This may be true but the product they are choosing to import and profit from SodaStream is an illegal, West Bank settlement product made in Mishor Adumin Industrial Park, producted by labourers living under occupation.
Moreover, Mr. Rempel states that SodaStream’s contract with the airport has expired. This does not appear to be the case, however, as I was in the James A. Richardson International Airport two weeks ago returning from a trip and I was confronted with video screens advertising SodaStream by the luggage turnstiles. To me this is clearly SodaStream advertising.
