Say No to SodaStream and Say Yes! to Human Rights Campaign updates

Hello everyone,

Just an update on our campaign. We now have 32 signatures on our petition! This isn’t much but it is growing everyday. If you haven’t done so already, please log on to gopetition.com and see our petition under Human Rights entitle Say No to SodaStream and Say Yes! to Human Rights.

In other campaign news…..Premier Greg Selinger, Lieutenant Governor Philip Lee, Provinicial Trade Minister Peter Bjornson and Opposition Leader Brian Pallister have all now responded to our letters about SodaStream’s recent exhibits  in the James A. Richardson International Airport.

Both the Premier and Lieutentant Governor’s offices stated that they believed the airport displays were not within their jurisdictions and they had no plans to address the issue. In responding the way that they did, they completely disregarded what our campaign is asking them to do, which is to address the ongoing problem of illegal, West Bank settlement goods in our community and the fraudulent labelling of these products as “Made in Israel”.

We have since written back to them.

Meanwhile, Mr. Bjornson and Mr. Pallister simply sent letters stating they have received our correspondence, but have not written back since.
